International Travel – Level 2

All international passenger flights are prohibited, except those flights authorised by the Minister of Transport.

Currently, repatriation flights are available for those returning to their country of residence outside of South Africa or to resume work aboard. Below is the form required by the DOH for those wishing to depart from South Africa., the International Exit screening form

Depending on your destination you may need to carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate and complete health documents before you travel. Please check the details required as you will need to go to the airport with the appropriate travel documents for the specific destination. 

The certificate must be for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure. Other test certificates including antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted. Bring an official, printed certificate – SMS and digital certificates are not accepted. Please ensure stringent adherence to these times as any shortfalls will result in denied boarding.
